Business matchmaking in a residential condominium
An opportunity for anyone living in a condominium who may not know a great engagement strategy: the business matchmaking event.
In this article we present an opportunity for anyone living in a condominium who may not know a great engagement strategy: the business matchmaking event. Before getting to that approach, though, let us understand condominiums a little better and how they have been growing.
A little history
In Brazil they began in 1970, around the city of São Paulo, close to the motorways. The first condominium was named "A Chácara Flora". Then in 1975 came Alphaville, which was not residential but aimed at non-polluting industry in the cities of Barueri and Santana.
São Paulo has a large proportion of blocks and condominiums, and that number has been growing. According to researchers, the expansion of blocks comes with the significant growth of mid-range vertical properties, as well as high-end ones.
São Paulo recorded for the first time more homes in blocks than in houses. According to the newspaper G1, over the last 20 years the number of horizontal residential properties, the houses, in the city of São Paulo went from 1.23 million (with 158 million m2) to 1.37 million (with 183.7 million m2).
Vertical residential properties, the apartments, jumped from 767,000 units (with 108.7 million m2) in 2000 to 1.38 million (with 190.4 million m2) in 2020.
Many people, for reasons of safety, are choosing to live in blocks rather than houses, as Viviane Duranti explains in an interview with Gazeta: "I grew up in a quiet town in the interior and when I moved to São Paulo I felt safer living in an apartment."
Living in a condominium has many benefits, such as:
- 24-hour reception
- Swimming pool
- Games room
- Function room
- Barbecue area
- Sports courts
- Gym
The opportunity
Have you heard of business matchmaking? It is a fast and effective way of bringing together buyers, sellers and potential customers.
Business matchmaking has been widely used by building managers when hiring service providers. Here, though, we present an opportunity many people do not yet know about, one that makes all the difference to communication between residents, and that is both a valuable benefit and an advantage for whoever runs it.
You have probably heard of condominium meetings. In those, items are discussed for approval, accounts are presented, managers are elected, among other things.
With a view to improving how residents live together, and to generating business among them, though, plenty of condominiums have started organizing business matchmaking events.
Inside a condominium we know there are people of every profession. For example: hairdresser, dentist, doctor, lawyer, vet, estate agent, dressmaker, formal and informal entrepreneurs, among others. With that in mind, you can become a business matchmaking organizer, taking into account the number of condominiums in your region.
The participants' experience counts for a great deal in the success of a matchmaking event. It is uncomfortable to talk about your service or product to the same people you already spoke to at another table. That is why the Rodada de Sucesso software automates the whole job, and avoids repeated presentations during the event. It also optimizes the time, which is scarce these days.
What sets it apart: business matchmaking in a condominium.
This is a great opportunity to offer the condominium a service, meaning the organizer can run a matchmaking event in the function room the building already has, invite the residents and run a mixed matchmaking event.
We understand that one person needs another, the famous domino effect. A dentist, a lawyer and a hairdresser need clients; business owners need buyers or consumers for their services. All of that inside the condominium, with an exchange of information between residents, particularly for those who do not know one another. It will certainly enrich the residents' networking, and it is a good strategy for reducing arrears, which means it produces benefits for whoever takes part and whoever organizes.
